How to calculate the cement and sand in plastering a room? Let’s say we have a room with the following measurement; Length=25 ft. Width = 25 ft. Height = 13 ft. And
also, let there be a door and a window with
the following measurement; Door, D= (3X6) ft Window,
w= (3x3) ft
Now, Plaster of 4 walls= 2x(L+B)xH = 2x(25+25)x13 = 2x50x13 = 1300 sq.ft. Area to be deducted i.e., door
and window = (3x6)+(3x3) = 18+9 = 27 sq.ft. Hence, actual area of plaster =
(1300-27) = 1273 sq.ft. Now, let us assume the
thickness of the plaster be 0.5 inch or 0.042ft. So, the wet vol. of plaster = (1273x0.042)
cft. = 53.46
cft. Now, Dry vol. of plaster =
53.46x1.33 = 71.10 cft. Add 30% of the plaster for
filling of brick joints and pointing. So, (30/100 x
71.10)+(71.10) = (0.3x71.10)+(71.10) =
(21.33+71.10) =
92.43 cft. Now, let the Ratio of the
cement and sand for the plaster be 1:5 Cement = 1/6 x 92.43 = 15.40 cft. For finding out no.of
cement bags we will divide by 1.23 So, Numbers of cement bags
= 15.40/1.23 = 12.52 or 13 Bags. Sand = 5/6 x 92.43 Sand = 77.025 cft. -------------------------------------------------------- RELATED POST :
